Do you drive your cats around in a pick-up truck in PA?

benson,
I read recently, on my kindle NYTimes subscription, that gun toting, pick-up driving cats are a real problem in Pennsylvania. They go around calling everyone assholes.
You are correct. China at the moment IS able to feed itself. However, as diets change that may not be the case…
The following is from a 2008 Financial Times article called “Can China feed itself?”:
China is losing its ability to be self-sufficient in food as its rising wealth triggers a shift away from diet staples such as rice towards meat, which requires large amounts of imported feed.
China has about 40 per cent of the world’s farmers but just 9 per cent of the world’s arable land.
Excellent idea, Denton. But I only buy hardcovers of “keepers”. My day-to-day rubbish isn’t worth more than a dollar or 2 – which works out to be postage on the Swap – & as soon as I’ve read it, it goes back into the Swap so doesn’t use up precious bookshelf.
benson, yes I do have a pickup truck in PA!!! And you can bet your ass it’s American made…back in 1953 when the American worker actually made something of quality!!!
re the kindle, I think it’s neat and all that, in fact we bought da kid one for Christmas. Having said that, I am a collector, I love the physical object, and I chase down authors for signatures.
Therefore I have yet to buy one. I have suggested to some publishers that they consider people like me, who, after all, buy a lot of books, and offer a kindle download for an add’l dollar with the purchase of the real thing.
That would add to revenue, allow collectors to leave the object home undamaged, while being able to take advantage of what ebook readers have to offer.
bxgrl,
Looked up We the People Act on Wiki. It prevents the fed gov’t from ruling on “any claim involving the laws, regulations, or policies of any State or unit of local government relating to the free exercise or establishment of religion.”
Whether you or I agree with it or not, it seems in line w/ RP’s small gov’t philosophy.
