  2. Thanks everyone,
My biggest regret is that the painting I am working on as we speak would have gone over well with you guys, its a 3’X5′ painting of the outside of the Carroll street station as it was before they started constructing the huge building over it ( something brought up on B’stoner a bit). Its going over where the cookies were.

  3. DIBS, I have no problem with interest groups (coprorations, unions, other interst groups) contributing money and trying to influence elections. I do have a problem with the view that the First Amendment prohibits reasonable limits on such spending, as if corporations, labor unions, and such have the same fundamental rights as people. And to make this ruling, the 5-4 politically conservative majority went waaay out of its way to reach out and make this ruling that it did not need make on this case, violating all the principles of judicial restraint, modesty, you name it, that the republicans who appointed these guys, and the judges themselves as nominees say they stand for. Did the corporate form exist at american law in 1789? If not, so much for originalism.

The Mass. election was bad for my team but otherwise a healthy expression of democracy. This ruling is far scarier and fundamentally un(small d)democratic.
