  1. Pete, is this is after the fact or is work still going on at your neighbors house?
I’d call DOB and notify them that your neighbor is doing work and you weren’t notified prior.
I don’t have the new code book, otherwise I’d look up the section for you. You can get the info on line, I’d do it for you, but I hate perusing the DOB codes on-line, it’s such a pain in the Ass.

Pete, If I were you, I’d have the wall tested for stability.

    ADVICE to homeowners:
If you get a notice that your neighbor is going to do structural, foundation work to their house. I recommend, prior to their start of construction; you photograph your walls (with the date) as a record.
And have a structural engineer that can be called just in case you see evidence of cracks.

  2. “So glad to meet many of you for the first time ( ^5 to DH, Loss For Words, Brokedeveloper, Exp Text, the Why, BH, CG ups, jessi’s roomates, Denton and the Mrs.)”

Ahem, did we not meet last night? 🙁

  3. I love Willow St., especially with that house with the columns. The street is so ancient looking. Ancient for Brooklyn, I mean.

Re the Macdonough collapse, I posted the Brownstoners alert in the Forum. Maybe Mr. B will have an update on the situation Monday.
