CGar, believe it or not, I asked the same question awhile back and, yes, Arkady responded.
I always use two spaces. I believe Arkady said (I could be wrong) that is correct for formal communications but one space is also acceptable, especially in emails and less formal communciations. I can do a “Let Me Google That For You” too if you like.
I got my hair cut last night, and the woman who cut it asked me if I ever use product. And I said I do when I must, but I never want to look like Pauly D!!
CGar,
I bet getting high is a lot better than getting married in NJ. Jersey will appear so much nicer in an altered state. However, married, its the same old Jersey.
Kens – hahahaha!
I reckon(am not even a Brit so not sure why I even used that word) but I expect that the cops will be more vigiliant in stopping folks traveling from NJ to NY through the tunnels now!
I have a technical typing question if anyone knows the answer. Did it become proper (or at least acceptable) at some point to leave only 1 space between sentences rather than 2 spaces? I was always taught to leave 2 spaces. It’s infuriating to correct. I’m wondering if the convention changed or if people have just gotten lazy. (Yes, I realize I’m detail-oriented. And, yes, I realize there’s another less kind way to describe it.)
CGar, two spaces was always the rule.
Here’s a great website for parents looking for things to do in NYC with the rugrats:

What’s for lunch?
Never heard the two spaces rule, but I never was taught how to type or had to type anything until after college.

Where’s Arkady? I bet she knows.
