  1. Gem, we’re also looking in Bed Stuy (and Crown heights), but I can’t remember that street. I have a really bad memory. My Partner remembers these things better than I do. But you should walk the street and surrounding streets at various times of day. Walk the route from the train to the house. Also, locate the nearest shops and supermarket. If you need to run out for a last minute something to the corner store, where is it? If you have a car, look at the street parking situation. Etc. etc.

If you see someone in front of their house, stop and have a convo with them. We’ve learned a lot about the nabes by striking up conversations with people that live there. We’ve met super friendly people that love talking about the nabe.

  2. gemini, you are actually close to a nice place for coffee on Tompkins. Can’t remember the name. I don’t have anything like that close to me. The walk to the Utica A stop would be about 10-12 mins if you walk fast. There’s a Throop C stop though that is closer.

If you work in Manhattan…I think you work near me on 55th, right??

My commute, door-to-door is between 35 & 45 minutes…A to the E and off at the Fifth & 53rd stop of the E (which is actually madison Ave).

  3. MM:
Thanks so much. the facade of the house looks great and some of the interior looks nice. I am just concerned about the safety and how close is the train or a nice cafe to get a cup of coffee from…

M4L – the place is a 3/2 family story brick rowhouse already renovated in Hamilton Park for $650K
