  1. Yes, the frieze stays whie along with all the moldings, which are an off white. The ceiling is a very light gray and they didn’t paint the original crown properly…it’s all white and there should be a band of the ceiling gray in the middle.

  2. Although i do not like getting paint from either Lowe’s or HD, HD now carries Glidden which is a good paint that’s been around for a long time. Plus, it was the only one of the majors that seemed to have a color close to what I want.

So I went to the HD to pick it up (I had already bought a sample can to test it out) and the price per gallon was $15.00, yes, $15.00. I couldn’t believe it.

  3. Dave, looked at your parlour. That plaster freize and the picture moulding (I hope you’re keeping that ‘white’) are going to break up that color nicely. It’s going to look gorgeous!

Um, what are you doing with the ‘red’ sofa and arm chair? The arm chair has too much of a green tint for me to work with that paint color.

You might also re-think the painting on top of the mantle. It’s too orange and with the greenish/yellowish tint of the mantle, it might be too much color concentrated in one spot.

You’re gay. I trust you’ll do a fabulous job decorating.

  4. “Rob will be happy (or maybe not) that turquoise is the in colour for 2010.”

Is this what you’re referring too?

I just discovered all this fun stuff while doing my wedding invites. other than that I know nothing when it comes to colors and paints…this chart is really cool:

  5. What about the turquoise I showed you last week Dave? That was still true turquoise but had less of a bright shock to it. I guess I’d need to see yours up on a wall though. With variances on computer monitors, I’m sure what I’m looking at on my laptop won’t be the same as what goes up on your wall.

  6. Dave- I think maybe it’s got just a touch too much green/yellow in it. I’m more inclined to go one step deeper like the Glidden’s Robins Egg. I don’t think it’ll be as yellow in bright sunlight but it’ll still definitely read turquoise and not light blue.
