Obama is still in a learning curve (it is the Presidency ya know). But we do have too much bureaucracy- agreed. However I made a promise to DH and this time I’m keeping to it.
Where are the cute cat stories? Who want to build a house with an axe and a pair of pliers? Who remembers what an “old-fashioned” is (you know who I’m talking to, dh).
Ooh-ooh- wait. snaps- did you see the story about the cat who crawled home after 11 days with 2 broken legs? He’s fine but can you imagine? And one of Michael Vicks pit bulls is now a therapy dog and much loved.’
While I do think the government is bureaucratic….I just had a great experience getting my passport renewed!
I blew the June 2009 date of expiration, so I thought it would be a HUGE pain my butt to get it renewed quickly. Especially since I have a trip out of the country coming up in not too distant future, and so I decided to go with expedited service. $140+ inc. Overnight mail return.
I sent form, photo and check via USPS Overnight on approx. Dec. 17. And I got my new passport back on Dec. 26th!
I’m impressed! I was sure it would take a month or more!
So dave- that’s the truth of it? Oil for terrorism? It’s ok to let the Saudis sh*t on us, and provide a safe haven for terrorists because we want their oil. Wow- the ACLU’s got nothing on this.
And for those who insist this is an Obama vs. Bush issue, let me point out that the kid was on the terrorist watch list over the course of both incompetent administrations.
Cobble, it boggles the mind. But, sure enough, a year later, Drew Griffith does a follow-up story and the 8-year-old from Pennsylvania is STILL on the terrorist watch list!
“if everyone bought a new car w 2 fewer cylinders we could tell SA to go eff themselves.”
We’d need a lot of global warming as well before we could do that!
Why must EVERY issue be Democrat vs. Republican?

“bxgrl,
and yet under Bush, not one terroist threat got through after 9/11.”
Richard Reid? Dec 2001, when airport security was at it height.
Legion, I’m all about hearing all sides of a story, but you sound like you listen to way too much talk radio.
