I mean, I could just put the full bedroom door back up and keep it shut, but the way my apt. is configured, the living room is between the bedroom and kitchen and there are no windows in the living room (ugh). I need the light from the three bedroom windows (which face west) to get some good daylight in the living room. I hate to block off all that light, but Pia needs her sanctuary from Hari sometimes and the bedroom is it.
Hmmmm…I could hang it upside down. But wait..then I’d lose the match-up where the hinges are. If I buy a door, it would be a pre-hung one to avoid extra work of attaching the hinge.
Yeah, I considered the fact that I’d be looking at a basic hole. The door just needs to keep Hari out of the bedroom…He’s only 6.5 lbs so he can’t really destroy it, hollow or not. Would you still recommend covering that top space?

I was a real quandry about the present – and ended up donating money to a single mother who was evicted over the holidays.

I planned to make it high enough so that he can’t reach. I guess then it wouldn’t be a true dutch door, but more like a 3/4 door.
