It was really good. Christmas eve across the street having the most insanely incredible Moroccan Yule dinner. Xmas day at the In Laws in the city, Saturday rest, yesterday with the folks. Just said goodbye to them a little bit ago. They’re on their way back down to VA as we speak.
I actually sent you an email b/c we did an Ikea run yesterday. So of course I had to tell you about it you being the official mayor of Ikea.
Hola Losers! Hope everyone enjoyed/is enjoying their break.
Snappy, we’re going through the same dilema. How to keep the cats out of the nursery and our room when the kid arrives.
We’re going with the “tall” hinged baby gates and we’re also retro fitting them with thin plexi glass (you could buy a roll of screen too I suppose) so they can’t walk through the slats. If need be we’re going to put a “winged angle” coming off the top a la the security fences so they can not jump over them. Right now there’s only one cat on our roster that I think would attempt it and I’m hoping she won’t.
Pete – I had the same thing. The house is o.k. until it’s fixed unless you run any 220. Once the job in the street is done, you should have an electrician balance the system in your house – the fact that your apt. & the other tenant didn’t have a problem suggests that one leg might be over-loaded. Took forever for ConEd to fix ours but it’d happened just before 9/11 & they were busy w/ other things.
sounds like same problem, Dave. Luckily don’t have electric stoves and don’t know if anyone uses hairdryer.
And of course not A/C season.
How long did it take for ConEd to restore it for you?
Weekend people couldn’t do it – only the temp fix inside.
So who knows when they will do what they need to do outside.
Oooh! Ikea! I need to find an excuse to go back over there. It’s so bad for my wallet though.

Ooooh…here’s some RE porn for you all…the only thing I’d change is to add a full bath on the third floor.

Hiya THL! Thanks for the tip. Maybe I can find one used (I’m being super cheap here and don’t wanna pay that amount). How was your X-mas?
