i love the dirt floor and rock walls. seriously. a friend lined a bathroom wall/floors in his litchfield house with large rocks. installed a huge skylight and took out the bathtub to make it into one giant shower room so it felt like an outdoor shower in nature.
I love the honed slate countertop in the kitchen. Bxgrl, do you remember what is opposite the counter? I’m curious if he has another counter, or cupboards, and what he’s done with the refrigerator.

I had honed slate in my place in Manhattan..it stains easily and is a pain to keep nice. Soapstone doesn’t stain and I like that a lot better.
You can get a honed granite that won’t stain either.

I have gas forced air, mopar. No overflow.
But sometimes I use it to pee in since I don’t have a powder room on the parlour level.
