  1. M4L- the little dirty S.O.B.s- and they never give me a dime for their room and board. I’m sure some of mine work for a huge corn-growing Agricombine (their litter is corn cob.) And I know one of the is a shill for the fish industry!

(Hi, the Why! Welcome to Cat Central).

  2. Thanks the_why. These are the ones in my backyard. We’ve been very successful in getting the colony neutered and most of the older ones have moved on. I just have the two young girls now (approx. 6 months) and occasionally their mom will come around but not regularly anymore. The sleep under the enclosed porch in a blanket filled plastic tub with their best buddy who is, brace yourself…

    An opossum.

At first I used to chase the opossum away but then I noticed the girls would actually hang out and play with it at night.

It still seriously skeeves me but since it’s technically never done anything wrong I’m taking the high road and going with the “all gods creatures” mumbo jumbo on this one. LOL

My neighbor across the street who also does TNR for her 10-15 strong colony says there are no enemies in the cold.

  3. Bxgrl, secret is out – CATS are on the payroll of the various mega retail mkt companies. For example, Apple called Hari and said “time for your master to buy a new computer; your special treats will arrive after the mission is accomplished”. Sounds like your cats work for Procter or Kraft foods

  4. The Prospect Park Wollman Rink is wonderful. The only rink in the city where you can’t see cars. It’s a little shabby but in a beautiful part of the park and it’s never too crowded. Bring your own lock for your stuff.

  5. THL:
I take care of feral cats in the neighborhood but since I work from home it’s easy for me to take warm water out every so often.

Those styrofoam boxes may work really well. I painted a couple of them with outdoor paint, punched a few holes in the bottom, and use them for planters – the plants do really well in them – I don’t think they ever froze.

Also, bubble wrap around and under the water dish may work.

Good luck with it and that’s nice that you take care of the outdoor cats.

  6. Happy Hannukah to everyone! I’m being harrassed by housemates who insist on being given snacks! I get nervous when they take out the candles and matches.(I can totally sympathize with snappy).
