And since when are any of you rich? I’d say everyone here is more upper-middle-class (which, of course, is fabulously wealthy by rest-of-world standards). And to the poor, middle class looks pretty good too!

let’s not concentrate on the money so much as a definition of being “well off”. One can be well off with modest shelter, loved ones and some sort of passion in life.
