my father in law tells me that the drag strip in the 60’s was along 2nd Ave. near the Gowanus, they used to call it “The Trench”, they’d have a few cars to slow traffic then it was on.
I’ll admit this though, after losing a 1/2 carat diamond stud earring I’ll only wear the diamonique studs now. I also have a solitaire pendant and a eternity (wedding) band. All are set in solid gold and I wear them when I travel so I’m never scared to lose or get my jewelry stolen.
