NO Honey, YOU weren’t paying attention from the beginning. I was throwing out so many hints. All my posts to Miss Chiff had a play on words. You missed it on this one!!
I know excactly the moment you think you figured it out. But again, there could be twists and turns!!!
slope, no one takes him seriously, especially me. That story about the Borthern pacific Railroad is EXACTLY what happened with Volkswagen stock recently. There was no stock left to buy to cover huge short positions and someone did commit suicide in germany over the whole thing.
What’s entitled to his perspective, but celebrating suicide?? That’s sick.
In any event, some historical perspective is needed. I’ve been reading about the battle between E. Harriman/J. Schiff against J.P. Morgan/J.Hill over control of the Northern Pacific railroad in the 1880s. Drove up the price of the stock from well under $100/sh to more than $1000/sh over a short period, took most of the market up with them (London, too), and tied up all the assets. No one was selling stock and short sellers were stuck having shorted stock they could not actually buy to cover. The whole thing imploded and many investors did, in fact, kill themselves. It was a panic way beyond anything anyone (other than what) is predicting for the current recession. The current one is a tough recession. Reminds me more and more of ’78-82 with all the large scale layoffs, but with more of a white collar impact. But it is nothing like what happened back then.
I just don’t see how there can be any rational discussion about anything with someone who takes glee in others’ suicides.
You underestimated me, Cobble!!
I was so disappointed in you. I thought you loved word play! I gave it all to you.
I say no more 🙂
Oops, I meant ‘you’re’.
Your underestimating me BRG. I will say no more.
‘YOU weren’t paying attention!’

I figured it out. And it annoyed me, BRG. YOU weren’t paying attention!

What are you suggesting, Cobble??
my, my, my….you finally woke up. I’ve only been screaming it since the start.
Although, I think I know the truth and will not reveal a thing
Don’t drag me into your nightmare!
