2012 is 3 years away. The Big O has been in office less than a year trying to clean up a mess that was built in 8. I still think he’s a genius & he’s been quietly lining up his ducks & they’ll soon form a beautiful pattern as we migrate into sanity.
Chicken, I had a driver’s license and a motorcycle permit. Techinically you can ride legally with a permit since not like you have to have someone with a motorcycle license sitting right behind you hanging on for their dear life. The only thing is that with a permit, your motorcycle insurance will be higher. I never owned a bike but rode friend’s and my friend was pulled over before with just a motorcycle permit and didn’t get a ticket or anything. I think there are restrictions that apply though, like no riding after dark (kinda like with car learning permit).
In NYS I think the law is anything over 50CC requires a registration, insurance and license. That’s why some people get away with riding mopeds or scooters with no registration and/or license.
