  1. “I tend to give money to performers be it homeless or now”

Performers are the only ones I consider giving money to, but it’s gotta be the right performance.

Some guy playing The Wind Cries Mary on an acoustic like he knows what the song is about gets something.

A guy playing plastic can drums so loudly on a subway platform that all rational thought is driven from my mind except “would it really be a crime to bludgeon him” gets nothing.

  2. I went into my bank once to get some cash, a homeless guy outside asked me for money. “Maybe later,” I said without thinking.

When I exited I meant to turn left, but I went right for some reason. I noticed he began to follow me, and I turned around to reverse course and continue my errands. I crossed my arms and looked at him. He got this scared look on his face and slunk away. About the only time I’ve ever intimidated someone on the street!

if you are in the subway or on the train and you are playing an instrument well and/or have a good voice – I will almost always give you dollar or two
