if someone’s going to complain about world champs label, NFL football is it. unlike hockey, baseball, and basketball, the league doesn’t have that many foreign players playing so can’t even claim to have drawn the best talent around the world hence winner is world champ
Ack! I just got back from dropping my 5 year old downtown, 2 year old strapped to my front (thank GOD I didn’t take the stroller) and was actually a little freaked out a few times it was so difficult getting across Broadway and through the sidewalks so excited, so plentiful and so rowdy were the Yankees fans. Our subway stop was shut down, I got caught in a bottleneck at one of those metal barricades, everyone angry, shoving, trying to get to work or wherever…
It was then I wished they hadn’t won. I know, sigh, sacrilege!
But Happy Friday all – don’t think the sky could possibly be a more crisp and lovely shade of blue. And to those of you who love the Yankees, congrats!
A lot of Indian subcontinent cricket players are HOT.
“consigliere” is a great word. I nominate it as word of the weekend and will be using it at every available opportunity.
Gold just broke $1,100.

Right, boys play the rough and tumble game of cricket.
In the US, a cricket often serves as consigliere to a wooden puppet who wants to become real boy.

No – we call it “rounders” here, and it’s usually played by girls.
