stevie- understand something. These people are Republicans, conservatives. They aren’t going after dibs- they’re going after Democrats, moderates and liberals. Their demographic is white, middle to upper middle + class, and tellingly, not so well educated. In fact, they can’t even figure out who they really are because successful financiers like dibs make them crazy. They play into the lowest common denominator. They’re into fear, they are hypocrites and they have short memories. They aren’t recruiting, they’re playing to the nutjob constituents the Bush administration tried to make credible.
Bxgrl, I agree with you that they are assholes. There are always right wing nutjobs out there. But what is different this time is they are also able to recruit new members from those who are also very angry at the washington-wall street partnership.
i dont think anyone wants to see an angry mob with pitchforks and torches gather outside of DIBS’ house demanding his head be cut off. Sadly, I see us heading in that direction because Sarah palin and glenn beck are succeeding and the public wants blood.
These assholes are beyond irrational. Frankly they should be arrested for treason and promoting terrorism. They aren’t the only ones pissed about the bailout, but most of us in the country can see a bigger picture- No, this is about being whiney sore losers, the loss of power and sheer greed. And pure imbecility – as I said- if they haven’t got the brain capacity to assess their message, they haven’t got the brain capacity to understand it either. Most of those protesting in DC today have health insurance or medicare. How stupid do you have to be to not understand that the government provides medicare? Done. Said my piece and sticking by it.

Bxgrl, what I meant is Obama and the administration is not addressing or acknowledging that there is a deeper underlying issue here, which is the public resentment of the bailouts. Obama and co. thinks that all these guys are right wing nut jobs. Michelle Bachman, Glenn Beck, and Sarah Palin are trying their best to fan the flame of the public resentments and that could turn into a wild fire that destroys anything that is in its way. People who are angry do irrational things. Angry people were what made it possible for the likes of Hitler and Mussolini to rise to power. This is a dangerous time for the country and for the administration.

I perfectly well get it stevieb. Don’t even think of using that new agey bs on me. Anyone who lacks the cpacity to understand what that sign wasn’t appropriate or see that it is highly offensive is hardly capable of assessing the state of health care, Washington, or anything else, let along place the blame squarely where it belongs- the previous administration. That’s why the nutjobs like Bachmann have taken over. They care as much about fiscal responsibility as Hitler cared about peace on earth.
