I will take your comments (about the meet up) to heart and consider it. There are definitely some people I’d love to meet (you included) but there are a couple bad apples which make me hesitant.
bxgrl, you and MM and Amzi haven’t come out drinking with us since Ellis. By my count, we’ve been to CHN and/or Bed Stuy THREE (3) times since then. So, 12/3 is a command performance . . . particularly if you want The Gingerbread House in your stocking.
“Who will take the hit from cap-and-trade? Manufacturers, that’s who – the sector of the economy that has been hit the hardest.”
This is like when someone argues that cutting down trees in the rainforest is a good thing because it keeps people employed. Let’s think about the bigger picture. We do not have a right to destroy this planet! Take the resources being wasted on the military, the space program, etc. and employ individuals who are in industries that are most harmful to the environment.
Losing jobs in the short term to protect the planet in the long term seems to be a sacrifice well worth making.
Think BIG. Think about the planet. Think about our kids.
