  1. The way the bill stands, it would probably cost around the same, only you’d be required by law to not “fire” your insurance company. It’s simply a law requiring everyone to buy insurance with a few well intentioned (pitiful really)provisions like not denying coverage for an existing condition. Certainly a blow job for the Insurance Industry if I ever saw one…

  2. how dumb! i just finally got around to filling my script for chantix from the doctor and it turns out my insurance plan doesnt cover stop smoking drugs. that sounds so counterintuitive, no? it wound up being 160 dollars! that doesnt go toward my deductible. at least i had that bit on my health savings flex card, but still 160 dollars out of pocket for a month’s starter pack? now im hearing that if you have a nice doctor they will often give you a starter pack for FREE? someone told me the same thing about the Advair inhaler i was on that some doctors give it to you for free if they put you on it temporarily like i went on it, not for chronic asthmas. that was like 160 bux too!!!

a serious question, if there is a public option for insurance, wont all these drugs wind up costing people even more, especially those already on a health plan? or is it the opposite?
