Thanks for sticking up for me Ditto but coming to blows over a forum disagreement is seriously beneath me (and should be for most everyone else).
We won’t convince Joe that he’s wrong, and even if we do, he’ll never admit as much. So all I’ll do is call him out and then the rest of the internet viewers make their own mind up.
Bxgirl, I replied over there…the cut outs were already sold off 🙁 Next holiday season the $550 gift is all yours! (minus the brooklyn part anyway…I’m keepin’ that for maself!)
Joe- better to drop it. Dave is right every group has their gangs and criminals (‘scuse me. Gotta take this phone call from Meyer Lansky). It’s easy to get an idea in your head based on observation and anecdote- but unless you’re part of a gang or a cop you can’t know the whole story.
As for sweatshops? Yes- they’re awful but if you want to know about sweatshops. read about the Triangle Factory fire. Other than that, I think we should get away from comparing criminals and ethnic horror tales- no group comes out looking good.
I probably know that world better than most of you and evreything I said is true.
Every group in the world has their criminal element, their lag abouts, their less than stellar representatives. They are always a small, small percentage of the whole. It is foolish, and xenophobic to take that small percentage and base one’s opinion of the whole group from that. Unfortunately, it’s done all the time, usually accompanied by horrific stories about what some people have done.
No group has a monopoly on either goodness or evil. We should all be judged by our individual actions. Someone is not a thief, a thug, or a lazy bum because they belong to one ethnic group or another. You’d think by now, we would have gotten past all that.

Years ago I was on a relatively empty train and sat across from a chick I could tell was high on heroin. She had the signs – slightly puffy face, slightly swollen hands. She was also very good-looking. She was nodding out, and rocked back and forth for about 30 seconds before falling straight off the seat and onto the floor face first. I helped her get up and put her back, and she started nodding again. I got off a couple of stops later and as I was leaving she fell onto the floor again.
Let’s not forget that JFB couldn’t have pasta & meatballs if it weren’t for the Chinese.
Joe’s cool – it’s obvi unions are a touchy subject for him. We all have one that makes us get angry. everyone chill!!
