There are many more important issues to be dealt with here such as when’s the next gathering & where? If Biffy’s in the middle of reno will he be able to get to his Santa suit?
10 weeks paid leave? Are you kidding?? Well, dave- you’re right on this. the union and its workers need a serious does of reality. Sadly for them, they got it.
Joe- you know maybe one aspect of it. For 2 summers the organization I worked with did programs with Chinese teens. We spent time working with them, politicians, parents, community leaders. They told us the problems and part of the program was helping them come up with ways of addressing it. Some of those parents worked in sweatshops- horror stories are real, but overall the Chinatown community is like any other ethnic community. It has problems, great people, hard workers, activists, fascinating culture and pride,criminals- in that, it is no different than any other. And from what I saw of the 150+ kids we worked with- everyone should grow up with that sense of respect for family and education.
If it’s the union issue, you didn’t respond to my comment about Stella D’Oro…
“The Stella D’oro union workers earned $18 to $23 an hour plus ten weeks of paid leave. BCTGM refused to negotiate and forced Brynwood to execute a regrettable sale, said the statement.”
Wouldn’t a reduction in salary and four weeks have been better than no job?????? There’s never any give on the part of the entitled unions and in this economy, EVEYONE gets cuts, LIKE IT OR NOT.
It’s just plain stupid and that’s how they always sound when you hear them on TV with their demands.
lets talk about how awesomely gangsta bloomberg is and how one of his daughters is a borderline babe.
“Maple leaves. Pshaw! Learn to love an elm tree or a weeping willow like everybody else dammit! :-)”
You ever tasted what comes out of an elm tree or a weeping willow? YUCH!!

Can we just cut & paste the union discussion from last week? I doubt that anyone’s mind has been changed & there probably aren’t any new inputs.
“DH, his union statements aren’t the problem. Go back and check his 9:33 for starters.”
Eh – really? Not that bad.
But i’ll step back and let this devolve into pandamonium – enjoy folks!
