  1. I’ll tell you my own theory on the Crown Heights disturbances and the Korean boycott. I have not a shred of evidence to support it, of course. Well, maybe a few shreds, see below. Other than the fact that Dinkins consistently denies telling the NYPD to ‘hold back’.

My theory is that the NYPD deliberately and intentionally did nothing so as to embarrass Dinkins, whom as we all know was hated by them.

Can we remember the famous NYPD police riot in which Dinkins was referred to as a ‘washerwoman’ on the steps of City Hall? Rudy aided and abetted the riot.

    From the Washington Post:

“A 600-page report from the state’s commissioner of criminal justice detailed numerous instances of breakdowns in communication between police at the scene of the rioting and top brass, mishandling of 911 calls and inexplicable delays in moving to quell violence.”

    “INEXPLICABLE”. Yup.

  2. THL, I’ll be sure to polish my boot buckles. Do you have a boot scraper out front lest I track the horse manure in from the street. I do hope you have a carriage stone for me to step out upon.

  3. Thanks Denton. It’s a color photo that is about 20-30 years old and has some damage (light spots, cracks). I just need the color retouched and the cracks removed and then made into larger sizes (currently it’s like 3/6 or something and I need 4×6 and 5×7 made out of it. There used to be that guy Adam with his photo shop on 5th near 17th, but he and his wife closed it down and opened up a wine shop instead 🙁

I sincerely hope that others do not fall into the deflective trap being set up here, I know I won’t. The discussion of a Dinkins condoned boycott is being compared to isolated criminal acts/hate crimes which were not comparable ( not politically /officially condoned acts). It is unfortunate that the goal of the original baiting poster is being slowly met and some posts may take a petty turn…..
Discussion of why Dinkins failed the city and it’s taxpayers does not equate to media hyped race related murders in NYC in the late 80’s. That “telling” boycott and it’s notorious activist perpetrators are indefensible. What happened to that store owner was an abomination.

  5. Well, I don’t allow people to wear sneakers over to my house. They didn’t have them when the home was built so they’re not coming into it now!

While I understand people’s hiding TV’s, personally I feel they are a part of everyday life and not offensive to look at.

  6. fsrg- no one is comparing racial incidents. benson was comparing a boycott and deaths due to racism. Freddy’s was a horrible incident, stupid and stoked by anti-white comments by Sharpton, who ignored the Black Church that asked for the eviction in the first place. No one denies racism affects all of us and it works both ways.

The last thing I am going to say on this issue is if protesting racist remarks is “political correctness” then I intend to be as politically correct as I can possibly be. And I will always speak out against ignorant, venal comments. Don’t like it benson? Take your own oft-given advice. Don’t read my posts.
