  1. I guess they’re prolly still a little pissed that the Anglicans split…and now they’re bribing them to ‘come back’! Without telling them they’re about to pick their pockets, too!

  2. The only real differences between Anglicans and Catholics is the authority of the Pope – that’s the theological biggie, and the status of the clergy – the cultural biggie. The Anglican clergy can be male or female, and can be single, married, and in more enlightened places, gay.

    I can see the very conservative Anglican pastors going Catholic for cultural reasons, but theologically? Accepting the authority of the Papacy means accepting the huge and powerful authority of the entire Vatican establishment, which is much more, well, byzantine, than the Anglican hierarchy, which has only been around since Henry VIII. I don’t think this will bring in as many as the Church may think.
