Rob, I heard Catty closed because an underage girl overdosed in there on New Year’s Eve. Don’t know how true that is though. I do know they had been raided a few times (cops checking for underage girls and drugs). There was always weed-a-plenty when I was there. That was basically what the upstairs balcony was used for. They now have ‘traveling’ parties at various bars and whatnot around Brooklyn.

What were the “sketchy business practices” rob??? Lipstick lesbian hate??? Dress code violations (only Timberlands and plaid shirts allowed)??? Over consumption of Jagermeister????
there is a big scandal that one of the business owners “a hetereosexual man” was doing shady things with the finances… i read about this on i think brooklynian (tho i take that site with a grain of salt cuz that site always seems like a bunch of gossip queens with too much time on their hands) but i have noticed cattyshack has been closed down for weeks now. i wonder if it has anything to do with that hideous unoccupied finger building condo next to it? they also had tons of violations because of their illegal status roofdeck and tons of drug arrests in there. i was there one night when the place got raided, just a few months ago for drugs or something. one of the few times i didnt get kicked out on my own volition. that said it was always my fav. bar in the neighborhood. i cant stand exselsior at all.

You people really need to watch where the gays are moving to (hint, hint…pssstt…Bed Stuy, Hell’s Kitchen) in order to make any money in real estate.
i REFUSE to follow the faint scent of santorum just to make a few money in real estate.
and please stop saying gays are moving to bed stuy. that is pure hogwash and you know it.
I was thinking last night: You know what’s interesting about the fall in real estate prices? The cut doesn’t seem enough to switch from one price category to another. For instance, if you couldn’t afford Park Slope before you still can’t. (Sorry, Hoboken.)

You Gays really need to watch where the artists are moving to (hint, hint….pssstt…Soho, Chelsea, Meatpacking District, Williamsburg) in order to make any money in real estate.
Wake up Gay People, the world doesn’t revolve around your asses!!

I see Bay Ridge is not included in either of those destinations.
Don’t you think SoHo, Chelsea, Meatpacking & W’burg have all hit their peaks!!!!!!?????? Certainly as compared to Bed Stuy and Hell’s Kitchen.
The world doesn’t revolve around your sketch pads.
