  1. Oh, there you are THL, chef hat and all.

I have a box of lasagna pasta.
I don’t love lasagna because I ‘m not a big fan of mozzarella cheese or ricotta cheese. And I can’t stand Parmesan cheese.
Actually, food with melted cheese turns me off.

Is there anything else I can do with the lasagna pasta? Can I boil the pasta and maybe cut it up or wrap something in it?

Something else to make with it but the traditional lasagna recipe.

  2. I had a suitcase stuffed with unfashionable clothes and some toiletries and about $1500. And some proper teabags too.

I’m getting all sentimental and homesick now at the thought of it. I remember how difficult it was to buy one fork and one knife and one plate at the time. Everyone wanted to sell my a 70 piece cultlery kit.

  3. Anyway anyone who posts on stoner all day probably already has enuf money or isn’t working hard enuf 🙂

Ha ha, 100% true. I don’t work hard enough, that’s why you’ll never see me bitch about not making enough money :o). I got a sweet offer to go back to the dark side (corporate law) about a couple of weeks ago but I would definitely give up posting on brownstoner and be miserable at work but I would me making more money. I denied the offer. I love my job and that’s partially why I am willing to live on a smaller income but if I had a family to support or felt like I need more money to pursue hobbies/interests or whatever, I would look for a better paying opportunity.

Don’t even get me started on American Dream. I will debate till I turn blue. As M4L once said, immigrants just see too many opportunities in this country and the notion of self entitlement just astounds us sometimes.

  4. It also depends on how you define success in your world. For some success is having enough money to pay the bills and hang out with their buddies. Others need much more in their life in order to feel like they’ve accomplished something.

    Everyone’s needs vary.

  5. “no offense hipster, but etson said something completely different from what you posted. maybe it was what you were thinking but it wasn’t what you were writing.”

**getting ready to take flack from the ivy leaguers who think i’m trying to say they didn’t work hard to achieve what they have***

  6. quote:
went to Harvard & did well.

almost anyone can go to harvard and DO well. the hard part is getting IN and paying for it. once youre in, youre in, and the coursework really isnt any that more challenging than your typical state school. it just boils down to which fruits you call your parents.

    *rob*

  7. “Social mobility is still very possible but likely to come by different means.”

Social mobility and economic success (i.e., “the American Dream”) are two distinctly different things.
