CNN) — Amid a storm of controversy over his racially charged comments on a weekend TV show, conservative commentator and radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh announced on Thursday that he had resigned from his post at ESPN.
Limbaugh said on Thursday he stepped down late Wednesday from the show “Sunday NFL Countdown” to protect the network from the uproar caused by his statement that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback succeed.
I know, I know,,, I’ve got a bit of a bad rep. with the Brownstoner crowd. But try to see it my way. If you had to put up with all these liberals, you would be taking oxycontin and bidding on NFL teams too. I mean, it’s not like I can just take a cab to the U2 concert or something, not with bono always hitting me up for world causes and getting me all guiltridden and whatnot.
Don’t hate the player. hate the game.
i used to jump off the porch with an umbrella and was utterly convinced that i floated for a little bit. i was secretly convinced that i could float/fly, it was just a matter of getting the brain waves in line. i think i was about this kid’s age. i hope they find him safe and sound very soon.
“At this point, we are thinking that he did not fall out of the balloon and is somewhere on the ground,” Larimer County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Eloise Campanella said. “The basket itself was not breached. It does not look like he fell out of it, but again, this is all conjecture.”
“I’m very confident we will find him. I think it’s a matter of him being a little scared,” she said. “Maybe he’s not ready to be found.” –CNN

thanks for the clarification, dibs. Good- glad they dumped him. If it were just his politics I would still agree with etson.
Exactly Arkady! I can’t imagine why it didn’t occur to the parents that this would be much too irresistible for a kid that age.
What did he say about McNabb?
He said Donovan McNabb was overrated. At the time McNabb had been in the conference championship 4 times.
“At this point, we are thinking that he did not fall out of the balloon and is somewhere on the ground,” Larimer County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Eloise Campanella said. “The basket itself was not breached. It does not look like he fell out of it, but again, this is all conjecture.”
