“BTW, i heard a really funny word for a hookup (the person) today. slampiece. funny or crude?”
CG_ups, that is funny and crude. 🙂
My favourite and admittedly very unpolitically correct term is when someone refers to an unattractive man or woman as a “slump buster”. Basically it’s someone one would not typically have sex except one’s been going through such a dry spell that he or she is willing to do it with this person just to get back into the swing of things.
benson,
I think you’re right. the Rush Limbaugh thing was basically political correctness.
Since when are people banned from commerce and enterprise because of their political/social views?
we better start investigations into the secretive owners of other American cultural institutions and see if they don’t have some strong views. then proceed to ban them from free trade.
What does the Catholic church own here in the US. Don’t they have some “extreme” views as well?
A debate over Rush isn’t going to go anywhere here. Let’s not spoil our evening. I think m4l is right — NFL is a business and has the right to approve ownership Rush is a controversial figure. NFL is within its rights to decide how much controversy to allow. Past statements that were arguably controversial have been the focus of attacks from the left and the right as grounds to disqualify all sorts of people from all sorts of positions. Anyone remember the Sotomayor hearings? Various discretionary Obama appointees the right has tried to hound out of office? Unfortunately, sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. It would be great if we could get everyone to stop this gotcha game, but no one is likely to disarm unilaterally any time soon.
I don’t know about you Asshat morons but I have someplace to go to now. Adios.

The New Yorker had a good piece on Michael Savage. It was a sensitive, thoughtful profile.
Also, it was not the NFL who ruled. His partners in the purchase actually threw him out because he was a liability.
The devil is in the details.

So…does anyone watch the show Sons of Anarchy on FX?
LOVE IT!!
The show is fantastic and it doesn’t hurt that the lead character Jax (Jackson) played by Charlie Hunnam is a DAMN SEXY man:
