I am trying to rack my brains out as to where you might have seen that house. The clue is the salt marsh. I think that narrows it down to either Jamaica Bay or Staten Island. There are no salt marshes around Manhattan.
My guess is that you were taking a bridge brom Queens proper to Broad Channel Island (the Broad Channel bridge). There are a few isolated homes in the salt marshes of Broad Channel Island.
BTW: for those who have not been to Broad Channel Island, I heartily recommend it.
