OK folks, back to our regular programming….
It’s Friday, and time for a NYC trivia quiz.
As we all know, the construction of the 2nd Ave subway line is once again underway. I say “once again” because the 2nd Ave subway line has been a long time in the making. It has been the top priority for the expansion of the subway system since the elimination of the old 3rd Ave el was approved. Indeed, during the 1950’s and 60’s, bonds were floated and sections of the tunnel built, but the project was shut when the money ran out.
Today’s trivia question concerns another FORMER top-priority subway expansion that, unlike the 2nd Ave line, is completely forgotten today. Like the 2nd Ave line, initial work began on the expansion. However, once again, this project is all but forgotten today.
