I am just as conflicted. I wouldn’t want to give Westboro the satisfaction of a confrontation but it seems wrong somehow to ignore it, as if we don’t care. The Rabbi is right- his shul should ignore them, but would the rest of us standing in silent protest give anything to Westboro? I don’t think so. Westboro will use it as they will- but seeing fellow New Yorkers standing together send a powerful message to us, ourselves. We’re the ones who need it.
since those westboro freaks are all part of the same family, presumably there is a lot of inbreeding that goes along with it. maybe hold up a sign that says stop fucking your family members or the next generation will have tails. and why is it always one old dude with a bunch of super young wives. kind of adds another layer of ick.
hahah, thanks guys. that sounds like an excellent plan!
just to weigh in on the hate-monger/Kansas discussion… i am surprised (but not really) that people like that still exist. it is very disheartening and so contradictory, that it is just beyond me. how can you preach hate in the name of god? i know, i know, people do it, and have done it for centuries, but it’s so hypocritical. and absurd. it honestly is absurd to me.
Ironic, isn’t it, that religion is such a divisive thing.

Rob will of course be waiting for all of us at Union Street train station on October 15th.
is a vodka martini really just a cocktail in a martini glass?
hahah, thanks guys. that sounds like an excellent plan!

“ok how does this voting thing work
and where is this party?!?!?!?!”
Please copy Rob on the directions to the party.
“and I am very tempted to just go and stand in silence.”
Hold a sign that says “VOTE!”
