dittoburg,
and if you will recall, our conversation on “divine spark”, you left it admitting that there was indeed microvoltage needed to initiate cellular division in animal cloning. The “divine” question is left to the interpreter. Unless you know who is initiating this spark, I would say you are just as much in the dark as the rest of humanity.
as far as “non-peer” reviewed journals, there are many out there, we can play semantics all day in which I will describe a peer reviewed journal is one in which a manuscript is submitted by the investigator and reviewed by colleagues before publication while a non-peer reviewed journal is one in which a scientific writer reports on findings and trends in science.
…but still, you go there and we’ll play our game of patty cake.
The consensus is far from clear my friend. In fact, it is the warming and cooling cycles of the Earth that is in question. The IPCC (International Panel for Climate Control) has cherry picked data to match their contention. Look up one respected scientist’s opinion on this (Pielke).
The reasons I have stated in my previous posts are based in solid science and physics, not in a cracker jack box.
I’ve also stated that there is a distinction between man made global warming and normal cycles.
I’m still on the fence about whether or not the Earth is truly warming, but if it is, It is not likely to be man made. Why? because Mars has shown some recent warming trends without our human help.
To give you an idea…the flat I rent in Hong Kong is smaller than the one I own in Brooklyn. It is about 500 square feet (it’s rated larger, because in Hong Kong developers can count all sorts of things–common space, hallways, even elevator shafts–as part of the “space.”)
The 500 square feet is cut into a LR and TWO(!!) BRs. It was built in 1994 so it’s not a “new” building (new construction is the most desirable in HK–buildings aren’t built to last). Location is the most desirable area of downtown (SoHo), right next to the Midlevels escalator. Roughly analagous to the heart of Greenwich Village.
The last I looked, this baby was selling for 3.5 million Hong Kong dollars, or about $455,000. I would never pay that amount for a place like this. You be the judge…here’s some pix: http://tinyurl.com/y8cjaqk
“, in fact I can claim a publication or two myself. Peer reviewed, no less.”
I’d like to know about non-peer reviewed journals..!
As you know from our previous conversation regarding your divine spark theory, I was previously a lab scientist, publish-or-die of course, and I can’t say appealing to your own resume is an indication that I should not question your characterization of “well-regarded scientists”.
The scientific consensus is clear, please don’t confuse earth’s warming and cooling cycles with the additional matter of climate change caused by humans.
Cute Hari story though…he showered with me yesterday! While I was scrub-a-dub-dubbing, he jumped in with me. I expected him to hop right back out upon getting wet, but he was having too much fun chasing body wash bubbles from the back of the tub to the front where the drain is. There was a lot of slipping and sliding and squealing, but he enjoyed himself. He was due for another bath anyway so I didn’t kick him out.
dittoburg,
As usual, a loaded question. But I will respond.
I read scientific journals all the time, in fact I can claim a publication or two myself. Peer reviewed, no less. So let’s not go there, please.
Again, read the arguments from the scientists themselves then get back to me.
Counter the arguments I’ve listed and I am willing to listen.
By the way, I have a home 900 feet from the Atlantic so, I am deeply concerned and involved with this issue of sea level rising.

I suppose so…or at least the trick is to bathe him while I’m in the shower! I guess even kittens can’t resist bubbles 🙂
LOL! I guess he’s gotten used to the water then.
