I do use silicone but mostly just the tools like spatulas and the like. I never got any baking pans.
Although…my mom introduced me to Silpats many years ago and I don’t have a baking sheet that doesn’t have an accompanying one. They are incredible. I even blogged about them:
I’m sure you can get cheap knick knacks made for very little at some underutilized Iraqi factory. So:
1. Get a ton of cheap little trinkets that would appeal to midwesterners made. Real Americana but not in a way that would be obvious to the people making it.
2. Have “made in a free Iraq” stamped on the back.
3. Overprice and sell to people in middle America who will get a stiffie when they read the “made in a free Iraq” caption.
I absolutely guarantee that you can make many millions of dollars doing this.
Yeah. After dropping the pyrex on University Place and it not cracking or breaking, I decided right then and there that I would never by another non-Pyrex item.
Legion- according to NASA scientists who have been measuring this, El Nino caused a slowing of the earth’s rotation because it is the earth’s atmosphere that can and does affect the rotation. If the placement of water made the earth slow down, you would have it every day with the tides. The deepest water is at the equator- driven there when the rotation was fastest. It did not slow down the earth’s rotation.
Well, enuff said- just want to thank you and Ditto- the science stuff is fascinating and I wanted to thank you both for 2 great debates so far.
Damn! That is pulverized. Must have hit a true tension point in the glass. Have you ever used silicone baking products? I’ve been wondering about those because of the ease of removing things like muffins, etc. from them, but worry that there may be something we don’t know yet about silicone leaching into the food.
THL, I just clicked on your link and QTip started playing…I am totally couch dancing right now! LOVE THIS SONG!
DeLepp- YES! We laughed SO hard. When the guy came out and raised the baby over his head I swear I almost did a lemonade spit-take.
“Anyone want in?”
I have a ‘semi’ just thinking of the limitless possibilities.
