  1. slope- we have engaged Price Waterhouse as an independent auditor of the proceedings. I offered to do it but the very biased CobbleSnaps group thought I might be a prostitute wearing a wire, tryig to embarrass them.

I know CobbleSnaps has done great work in the past but I question the judgement of people so obviously trying to make a buck off of us PLUSAs.

(and would whomever is explaining the whole round eye thing to biff please cc me as well? 🙂

  2. “Also, a procedural question. I don’t mind having cobble, snappy and whomever they see fit set the award categories, but will there be voting? Will there be nominees? Is there a brownstoner academy and who is in it? And how will the ballots be submitted, counted and verified?”

    Excellent questions, Slopey!

Yes, there will be voting, we will determine the categories late today, and post them and the email address to send your votes to.

Hmm, will there be nominees? Hadn’t thought of that, will review with Snaps.

The Brownstoner Academy doesn’t exist, it’s a CobbleSnaps, LLC. production.

Snappy and I will count and verify the votes. Voting is more or less anonymous depending on which email address you choose to write them in on. So verification of the actual poster voting may be tricky. Any suggestions there?

  3. CG Ups, you must talk about barfing like 20 times a day. Do you have a super sensitive gag reflex or something? I picture you at a trading desk next to a trash can that has to be emptied out every time you read a post that you disagree with.

Anybody remember the “lard ass” story from Stand By Me (such a great movie)?

  4. Slopefarm, yes, the date is set for Thursday, October 15, almost exactly one year from the first big gathering at Union Hall that was October 16 last year.

As for the awards and voting, your assumption that this process will in any way be democratic is flawed. Cobble and Snappy will fill everyone in on the deets as we get closer to the date.
