  1. DH – those Toyotas are made in U.S. plants that employ thousands of american citizens. No need to get xenophobic about the car industry. I know you don’t mean it, but these types of misconceptions have created an ugly past. Asian Americans have been beaten and in several instances killed by angry isolationists that proclaimed Asians were taking away american jobs. In reality, these companies are all building Toyatas, Hyundais, Hondas etc on U.S. soil and are built by American citizens.

  2. dh, what are you, some kind of socialist or cimmunist??? The only time I’m in favor of supporting some company with any government money is if I’m long the stock.

    The unions killed the auto companies.

  3. I have a question – if the American car industry is in such dire straits, then why are gov’t agencies buying imported cars? I’ve seen tons of NYC vehicles that are made by Toyota. NOT cool.
