  1. I prefer no a/c – used it about a week this summer. What I don’t like is when people keep the house colder in the summer than they tolerate in the winter before turning the heat on.
I’m planning to make it this evening – may have a problem but hope not.

  2. many people DO look gross in shorts and thank god summer is almost over. there was nothing grosser looking then men in very short shorts this year. ick. SO femme.

i like it to be as cold as possible. i love the summer because i love the smell and feel of air conditioning. i sorta hate the in between times when it’s too cool for AC but still hot and uncomfortable. like today.

  3. A/C is great – but hasn’t been necessary this summer. There was maybe a week where I wished I wasn’t too lazy to put mine in. Other than that, fans and open windows have been sufficient.

  4. benson, I know exactly what you mean but I think there must be something to be said for our bodies adjusting to different weather (blood thinning and thickening, perhaps?)

I remember having no A/C at all growing up and have no recollection of problems sleeping due to the heat (yes, it does get very hot even in Toronto in the summer). I think many of us/our bodies have unfortunately come to rely on A/C and have a lower tolerance for heat. I’m trying to wean myself off the A/C by turning it on less, setting it at a higher temp, etc.
