I live about 4 blocks off Eastern Parkway Gem, so it’s great for me. I can walk over to the festivities, watch some of the parade, hear some great Caribbean music, eat tasty food I didn’t have to cook, and check out the dozens of half-naked ladies (probably my favorite part). Just when I’ve had enough, I turn around and walk back to my house.

Uh oh…a little googling provided this

I just don’t understand why folks get so upset because a parent decides they want to give something, albeit a home, to their children. Why lose sleep over it? Really? Like I said, even for those who would not give it or accept it, you can’t deny you’d like to be in the position to give or accept it. To each his own. If all kids were raised the same way and we all agreed on everything, this would be one boring ass world.

I’ve visited – nice, relatively clean downtown area. LOTS of bikers and public support of biking (thus, not a good city for Rob). Big hipster culture and also quite proud of its generally progressive social, political and cultural attitudes. Nike has a big presence in the city, as I recall. Not very much racial diversity, I’m afraid. A great area of the country if you’re a hiker, biker, vegan, nature-lover.
