  1. Herki, unfortunately I can neither plan nor participate. Strict orders to not walk unless absolutely necessary (I think walking to get beer is necessary, but the doc disagrees!).

Bitter, no boot to bedazzle, but soon I’ll likely have a soft cast to pretty up 🙂

  2. I got a theoretical question for the legal folks.

A friend of mine let a “friend” of his borrow some money (5K) and wrote out a check to his dad’s name with the word “Loan” in the memo. The verbal agreement was that after half a year the kid would pay him back. A year and a half later and not a penny from the kid and the kid has disappeared and doesn’t pick up the phone on my friend. My friend is taking his dad to small claims court (since the check was on his dad’s name) and the court is next month. W

Question 1. What are his chances of winning?

Question 2. What if the dad/kid still refuses to pay after the judge’s decision is granted? What are the following steps? Can he get a court order to garnish a percentage of salary every month until it’s paid?

Any advice will be very helpful.

    Thanks!
