  2. HOBO: To lose 25 pounds you need to burn 87,500 more calories than you consume. Over two months (let’s say 61 days), that’s 1,400 calories a day. Over three months (let’s say 92 days) that’s 951 calories a day. Either way, that is A LOT. You don’t want to starve your body, because then your body will lower its metabolism and become more efficient at using calories – it will fight you. Shoot for something like 500 calories a day. Keep your body happy, don’t starve it. Eat small amounts frequently to avoid blood sugar spikes. It takes a while, but once you are on a roll suddenly a few months go by and you have made real progress.

  4. well she’s never had a birthday party before (and she’s 18) and her mentor claims that she has also never had a birthday cake. that part i find a little hard to believe, but not totally unfathomable.

  5. HOBO: Just make sure you actually track the calories, and it’s more work than you expect. Without actually tracking and verifying the information all you have is an idea and no execution.
