“this is a high school text btw. where the hell is crap being taught? and to whom!?”
Texas. They’re the largest textbook market by far and publishers lean over backwards, make that right-wards, for them. Having said that, this seems too far right even for that market. Maybe for an organization of Christian schools or something…
Cgar:
yes I will NOT miss being a landlord. We actually have some nice tenants now, but they are a bit strange. Sorta overstep the boundaries of us being landlords vs.being a super sorta thing.
Ah, ok I gotcha well at least you are in good standing to purchase something still a bit cheaper than a few years ago.
I will miss my garden and my deck for sure!
i work at a photo archive and various textbook companies get their images through us. i just cant believe something like that is written in 2009. the funny thing is in the beginning of the book it says it’s written for 11th and 12th graders. seriously, when i was reading the book i felt like i was reading an 8th grade textbook. pretty sad indeed.
“We are sorta weirded out to be renters again after owning and landlording for 6 years.”
G10, I know just how you feel on all counts. I don’t miss being a landlord, even though one couple I rented to have become very close friends. I miss aspects of the house, notably my garden and the Parlor Floor, but not the relentless maintenance and repairs. I’m torn between buying another house or buying a condo. I was recently outbid on a condo the size of my old owner’s duplex, but buying another house is tempting. If I had a spare $7 million, I’d buy yesterday’s HOTD.
Let’s not forget who’s from Texas everyone. GWB.
“She is too fake and skanky looking for me”
So what? It’s not like you’d have had to marry her. I could deal w/ “fake” to go a round or two w/ her funbags, then bounce.
That said, I’m sorry to hear she was killed.
