Yup Nascar! I didn’t understand all the intricacies at first thus I thought it was simply guys driving in a circle. Now that I’ve watched I understand all the minutia that contributes to having a winning team. It’s really quite amazing once you start to really watch you begin to appreciate it and get excited by it.
Oh yeah, you MUST watch it in surround sound. I like to feel the base of the engines as they tear around the track.
Arkady do you have a favorite?
I’ve always been a huge Mark Martin fan with Carl Edwards pulling into the second position.
I was a 19 during the summer of Woodstock. Was going to go with my druggie 13-yr-old brother but wound up going to a college newspaper conference at the U. of Colorado/Boulder. Party hearty with plumbing!
Re the Bed-Stuy tour–I would like to come, but not 100 percent sure. Girl’s High is right down the block from me so I don’t have much excuse.
Dibs, love that stoop!
WonTon, Ping has to get into the Holy Trinity–Stuyvesant, Townsend Harris and La Guardia (for violin of course). Actually my daughter’s friend Ping is a girl. Is it the character that means bell or the character that means smelly duckweed?
Oh, with regard to Goldman and oil from yesterday, which I read late:
I have no doubt that a significant part of the run up in the prices of oil and other commodities was due to an increase in the capital deployed in the commodity markets by financial institutions such as GS. But I do not think it is right to characterize it as a conspiracy by GS. Plenty of others did the same thing (Morgan Stanley most notably) and it was legal & allowable.
No – it’s just nostalgia for me. Used to belong to a drag racing club & graduated to NASCAR from there.
Duh….
di = do
as in ‘I can do’
not as in ‘Ob La Di Ob La Da’

I like NASCAR & motorcycle racing.
and my 1:30 is not serious. I do not condone drunk driving.

THL, NASCAR really???
I’m not a fan of NASCAR. I’m not a fan of drinking. But if you put the two together, I might be a fan.
