>Actually my daughter’s friend Ping is a girl. Is it the character that means bell or the character that means smelly duckweed?

The “Ping” in my story is named with this character å¹³, which means “peaceful” or “equal”. Most Chinese names in Hong Kong consist of two characters plus the surname, but little kids often get called by a nickname. Often the nicknames are based on their “official” name, with a diminutive added like “Little” “Big” “elder sister” or “Fatty”.
So, for instance, our PLUSAs might be called “Little Sister Snappy”, “Big Brother Kensington” and “Fatty DIBS”.
hi snappy. they don’t care about weight or health, but i think any financial institution does drug tests and background checks. i’m hearing that credit checks are more common these days too. don’t rule out an interview because of that stuff! geico is actually a pretty decently run company (hey it’s under the buffett empire).
OK, now I’m really out of here. On a beautiful summer afternoon, I’d rather let Petebklyn win than continue arguing over whether the block between Court and Smith is longer than the block between Hoyt and Smith! Bye all!
I’m not even gonna bother to apply for any legal jobs there. If that’s what it takes just to get in the door, that’s not my kind of atmosphere to work in. They are more than welcome to kiss the fattest part of my unhealthy, cigarette smoking, less than perfect credit having @ss 🙂
I just hate the idea of the intrusion 🙁
