I’ve only renovated a kitchen so far. It was very satisfying to get rid of the easy bake oven and tiny fridge which couldn’t hold a bottle of champagne. I’m looking forward to doing the bathroom sometime in 2010.
I plan to build and install a large wall length bookcase for my parents in their converted basement. My niece and nephew have taken the family room space over with all the toys I keep sending them, so storage is crucial.
Dave, I rent, so the closest I can come to answering your question is to say my proudest home decor moment came when several years ago I built my first piece…a customized entertainment center to hold the small tv, dvd player and some books in my bedroom. I regret everyday that I tossed it out about a year or so ago. It was gorgeous. I bought the wood, cut it, sanded it, constructed it, stained it. Loved that thing. It even included a little hideaway cubby for my cat. (oops! not supposed to mention cats…sorry!)
I put a kittie door in for my neighbor. Poor Charlie died at a young age and is now buried in my yard with one of those concrete cat garden things over him.
However, aside from a gut reno that I did in PA, I think my ensuite bath here in Brooklyn gives me the most satisfaction. That and the deck. But alas, I live in the ghetto and bought at the top so I will never, ever see that money again!!!

Lwgion, do you have pets?? Do you have pet health insurance? I hear that the religious right is organizing against pet health insurance.
Rob, ROFL at the peanuts in the basement and the poo mist chamber!

Dibs – Sure you will. Just wait a while.
