herkimermaid, The Death Star is often imitated but never duplicated. There is truly only one. And I work there.
As for titles, they not only differ across countries and firms, but can differ within the same firm (i.e., titles for the bank side versus the broker/dealer side). Some titles, such as VP and Director, are reversed between here and Canada. In Canada, VP is a pretty senior title, but, as DH said, VP in finance here usually means you’re one rung above an Associate.
I don’t think cobble is in finance- she was in the creative/production part of a major finance corporation. I think in charge of media/print production so she comes over to my side. (yay!)
You forgot Montrose, M4L ! Writer, production mgr for soft home goods, costumer, and Great EVLL par excellence!
And in other non-finance:

“The question of the day Biffy is, do you have a corner office? :o)”
Kens, The Death Star is round; there are no corner offices.

That’s the difference between hanging out with hipsters and hanging out with responsible, contributing members of society. Just kidding!

“I can’t believe you didn’t catch on to that!!!”
Sorry Kens, I must not be thinking straight. I guess that Unibroue was stronger than I thought! Damn Canadian beer!
Arkady, does your question mean “by choice” or “forced” (ie own something but am stuck cause dont want to sell at loss)?

Biff, I know, I saw the pic. That’s why I made the comment – sarcasm :o). I can’t believe you didn’t catch on to that!!!
I couldn’t possibly work in finance, let alone at a hedge fund, and live in the ghetto.
