When I was a kid, the Jackson 5 were the most popular group of my generation, being maybe 8 years too young to really get the Beatles and Stones on an peer level, although we loved them too. Michael was only a few years younger than I, so I grew up with them. I always felt sorry for him, in that he never really was a child when he should have been, and was never really an adult when he should have been either.
In spite of all of his personal issues, he was an enormously talented and intelligent man. He gave a lot of money to good causes, often behind the scenes, and his music brought joy and good memories to millions. I hope his legacy is mostly positive, he deserves that much.
I’ve loved a lot of his songs, but my favorite will always be the high, pure, poignancy of “Got to be there”.
THL, I’m so not a beatles fan. I really don’t get the appeal. I stream Q104.3 everyday at work and I turn the speakers off when they do their daily beatles block. ugh.
jessibaby – i’d agree with that
I think Adam is enjoying rambling on his “new” name a little too much :o).
> Is anyone else as sick of the Beatles as I am?
um, NO!
😉

Gem – There were many videos on TotP – unlike Hit Parade here where songs were just performed live.
Has Adam lost it????
> I will agree not to spell the word out again. Christ.
As a Christian I’m a offended by the use of ‘Christ’ in this sentence. In the future please use J.C.

Apologize What for offensively using retard as a slur. meant as a slur, and taken as a slur.
