They really should. I’ve stopped checking their site more than once a week.

I think Brownstoner survived the transition to registration-only comments better because it is both more focused and less sarcastic than Curbed.

Both of those things make it easier to get people interested enough and comfortable enough to register and participate.

Curbed has a broader appeal, but it is shallower. I never bothered registering there…
