The unions in the UK were pretty well tamed by Mrs Thatcher’s government, but they have been getting worse again lately.
The rail unions have always been bad, especially the London tube drivers. They have had a strike most years that I can remember. Usually the strikes coincide with England soccer matches, so anyone trying to get to the stadium is inconvenienced but the drivers can go to the pub and watch the game.
Oh Gem, I could definitely go that route as well. Waking up to the sounds of waves crashing outside. Doesn’t get much better. Man, I need to get out on the beach. Maybe I should head down to my folks place in Delmarva right on the Chesapeake. I need a break.
chicken….how are you dealing with the Underground strike???? What the hell is it with these unions and the sense of entitlement. I like it that those workers at the two hospitals (one was Bayonne) were locked out!!!!
They’ve even gone so far as to demand reinstatement of two employees who were let go for disciplinary reasons. This union crap really has to stop. These people need to understand that they to shall share in the economic woes. MORE LOCKOUTS.
