Did no-one read what I just wrote? The idiot Bloomberg reporter who was at the lecture just took that one sentence completely out of context of the point that Krugman was making.
Paraphrasing his words, he said the recession would be over when the “Recession Determination Team†said it was over – and that this would be when they saw one major indicator turn positive, even if everything else was still pointing down. He said that based upon this, the recession may be declared over by September but that things will still definitely be bad.
In fact, he said a replication of Japan’s lost decade is starting to look like a dream scenario for him now!
I try to avoid being plusaic in my posts.

The Bond Market controls rates, not The Fed. The Fed will have to raise Interest Rates very soon and when that happens the whole funking thing comes crashing down!
