Okay, I’m back from the gym and see that Rob still needs clothing assistance so I’ll throw in my two cents.
Pants (trousers) from Lands End:
– mail order so you don’t have to traipse to the shops
– very good waist & leg selection so they will have the right size for you
– never seem to change the styles so you can reload when required
– just buy 5 pairs in different colours and be done with it
Shirts from TM Lewin (http://www.tmlewin.co.uk/):
– fantastic sales on at the mo (4 shirts for £90) and these are from Jermyn Street (Jermyn Street is to shirts what Saville Row is to suits, or Canal Street is to knock-off LV handbags!)
– I don’t think they have a NY store but they do deliver to the US
– most of them are french cuffs (doubled back) so you’ll need cufflinks but a plain pair will not be expensive, or you can get the frog-knot ones for a couple of bux.
Suits. If you are lucky to be a standard size (which you probably are, Rob) then surf the racks at Century 21. Don’t go for anything outlandish.
Otherwise, get a cheaper made to measure one. A cheap suit that fits you well will look much better than an expensive suit that doesn’t.
That’s it from me. Off for a pizza – will check back in with you PLUSAs later tonight.
“DH, I saw your ROTD review. It sounds like a nice place but not really conducive to a Brownstoner gathering when we eventually have one in W’burg. Correct?”
No Biff – it’s strictly a restaurant. There are tons of bars with really fantastic outdoor seating in Williamsburg/Greenpoint.
I posted a link late yesterday on the OT from Gothamist re: Best Outdoor Bars in NYC. The vast majority of them were in Williamsburg/Greenpoint.

Rob, a suggestion: tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and beautiful. Go to Fulton landing and take the ferry to Governor’s Island. There you can rent a bicycle, for cheap, and ride a round the island, you will enjoy it so much. I swear you will. On the way homw stop by Housing Works on Montague and buy some clothes.
I’m still suspicious about yout green eye remark tho…..
Are you into fisting, Arkady???? WOW

Would you prefer to sit on the subway reading about anal fistulas?

Biff – Atmosphere.
Last stupid question of the day:
Why do you call it an asteroid when its outside the hemisphere, yet call it hemorrhoid when its in your ass?
