Rob, I actually miss grass. It makes me sad that government has to block off small sections of the city just so folks can have access to it. I love living in a city, but damn! I miss the likes of Pittsburgh and Chicago where you got your city and accompanying city feel, but you also had a front and backyard to wiggle your toes in. Having to take a trip to a park to get some grass is just wrong!
i just read this passage in a book of short stories im reading now, and it’s totally how i feel!
“Not that there’s any big difference between the forest and the city, really. You know what I mean? It’s all one huge thing now. Trees in the city, garbage in the forest. What’s the difference? You know?”
that is SO true and so how i feel about the greening of cities. i KNOW people want more trees and green space in the city, and i KNOW it’s probably a good thing. But i sadly feel like im losing the aesthetic of what i like to see. I prefer concrete, oil slicks, smog, garbage, nasty people cursing at each other, etc. I’m not a big fan of trees and people strolling along all nicey-nice, and birds chirping and flowers and crap like that. 🙁 Does anyone else feel the same way? i am sure i will get a giant NO! but whatever, im throwing it out there.
Kens, the last episode of the season was the really annoying one where Patti was being so condescending with the gay bachelor. It’s done for now.

Snappy, I don’t mind them at all. California Dreaming is a classic. But you can’t compare them, or anyone else, to Edith Piaf. She’s in a class by herself.
